All right, we admit it, we love our computers. We use them, abuse them, ask a lot of them and they pay us back by working hard for us. As we tell our clients "If it seems too hard to do, there's probably an easier way."

Learn to use your computer instead of fighting with it and you will be a happier computer user. Take a class, read a book, hire a private tutor - whatever it takes to be more productive. It will be time and money well spent if it means your frustration level drops.

Here are some short lessons that may help you on the road to loving your computer: (We are PC snobs, because we don't know much about Macs. These instructions are for PCs running Windows, but the options surely exist in the Mac world too.)

Email Signature: Tired of typing your name and phone number at the bottom of every email? You too can have several lines of information without retyping it each time. It's called a "signature". You create it once and your email software adds it to each of your emails. In Outlook you can find it in Tools/Options/Mail Format. Need more help? Click on "help" and look for "signature".
Search Engines: A whole section devoted to this topic.
Wallpaper: Did you know that you can change the background picture on your computer? Right click anywhere on the desktop and choose Properties. Choose the background picture you would like to see every day.
Right click: Try using your right mouse button in various places and see what happens. You will get fly out menus that often have the option you want without having to move up to the menu and search for it.
Blind Carbon Copy: When sending an email to multiple people, it is wise to use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) option in your email software. That means that everyone won't see everyone else's email address. People get downright surly if you pass their email address around the Internet without permission. In Outlook you create a new message and then choose View/BCC field. Put your email address in the TO line and everyone else in BCC.

This section is brand new so bear with us while we add more stuff to it...
