You have the domain name, you have the
website, now you need people to visit your site. How do you get the word
out?
|
- Print the domain name on
everything.
- Business cards
- Brochures
- Invoices
- Stationery
- Envelopes
- Email signature (what
is this?)
- Postcards
- Trinkets (pens, notepads,
etc.)
- T-shirts
- Hats
- Car & truck signage
- Building signage
- Lobby signage
- Yellow Page advertising
- Newspaper advertising
- Radio and TV spots
- Business directories
- Billboards
- Checks
- Your company newsletter
- Anything that already has
your address and phone number should now have your web
site on it too.
|
- Tell Everyone
Send a postcard or an email announcing the site to your
existing customer list. Send one to everyone on your vendor
list too. Hey, why not include friends and family?
Send out a press release and tell the world you are now
on-line!
|
- Other web sites. Any web
site that has a list of links is a possible source of
marketing. Ask. Of course, it's good form to include their
site on your link list also.
- Colleagues
- Business organizations;
Chambers, trade organizations, networking groups
- Customers
- Town directories - many
cities have their own web sites where they list businesses
- Neighborhood directories -
some neighborhoods do too.
- Vendors and suppliers often
have lists of their customers on their web sites. Ask to
be included.
|
- Voice Messaging
Add your web site address to your voice mail message.
Customers that call outside business hours may be able to find
the answer to their question on your web site. This also
points out a way to decide what content your site should have
- answer your customer's questions! (see other content
suggestions here)
